“This November, Coloradans will vote on three amendments and eight propositions – including three that independent liquor stores are watching closely. Propositions 124, 125, and 126, if passed, could bring big changes to Colorado’s alcohol sales industry.
 
Proposition 124 (“Liquor Licenses”) would gradually phase out the current cap on three liquor store licenses per business. Proposition 125 (“Wine in Groceries”) would automatically convert grocery stores beer licenses to include wine as well.”

Treasury Department could add nutrition labels to alcoholic beverages

“It is about that time of day where we started thinking about what we might be drinking tonight. And it’s Thursday– maybe about what you’re going to be drinking this weekend. Reportedly, the Treasury Department wants to know what’s in what we are drinking. Responding to a lawsuit by the Consumer Federation of America, the Department may push for beer, wine, and spirits companies to display calorie counts involving sizes and ingredients on their labels.”

California to add wine, liquor bottles to recycling program
“California’s bottle bill recycling program has needed fixing for 40 years,” Senate President Toni Atkins said Wednesday. “When you consider that California generates more than 1 billion wine and liquor bottles every year, that shows what major progress this legislation is and what an impact it will have.”
 
California’s recycling program includes beer cans and bottles, but not wine or spirits containers. Gov. Gavin Newsom announced late Tuesday that he had signed Atkins’ bill into law.”
